Last year, our engineers visited a Wiltshire property after reports of high electricity use and a poor, fluctuating water supply from a borehole drilled by another contractor.
On inspection, we found serious issues:
- 4" borehole with no headworks or capping.
- Pump hanging on nylon rope.
- Unsealed chamber with exposed, unburied pipework.
- Grundfos SQE pump with pressure switch but no expansion vessel, cycling 24/7.
- Borehole chamber cluttered with pipework.
- No potable water treatment.
We proposed and executed a full solution:
✅ Installed headworks and capping, securing the pump and sealing the borehole.
✅ Removed and reinstalled the chamber, fully sealed and cleared of clutter.
✅ Installed a GRP kiosk housing the Grundfos SQE control system with expansion vessel, plus a Daro Saphir UV treatment system for safe drinking water.
The result: a fully compliant, reliable, and treated water supply with no pressure fluctuations.
This is exactly the kind of project that sets us apart. Many drillers “dabble” with installations, but at Whatley, we deliver full turnkey borehole systems, in-house, to the highest standards using only top-quality equipment and materials.
