Position: Maternity Leave cover post - Purchase Ledger Clerk
GKL are a Civil Engineering Firm based in Fengate, Peterborough.
We are looking for someone to cover maternity leave for our purchase ledger position from the beginning of June 2024. It is anticipated that the post will be for 6 -9 months.
The successful candidate will have previously worked in a purchase ledger role for a minimum of a year. Must be able to use Excel along with all the other MS Office applications. You will need a good attention to detail. Being Part AAT qualified, and/ or having previous experience of working in the construction industry on project-based accounting would be helpful but is not essential. We use Eque 2 Construct and Sage 200 software.
Duties include:
• First point of contact for incoming phone calls and visitors to our Head Office
• Opening the post and posting letters out when required.
• Checking invoices and inputting them into our project based software ( Eque 2 ) linked to Sage 200
• Checking invoice statements and chasing missing invoices
• Preparing payment runs and processing payments to suppliers.
• Dealing with queries arising relating to purchase ledger with suppliers/ site
• General filing
• POD matching
• General accounting and administrative duties and other ad hoc duties as required.
The role involves close liaison with both our external suppliers, internal procurement, and the site-based teams. The role is full time and office based although we do offer the option to work from home one day a week once training has been completed. Office hours are 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday with half an hour for lunch however we would consider applicants wanting to do slightly fewer hours a week offer some flexibility on this for the right candidate (with a minimum of 30 hrs a week) if it helps.
Salary in the region of £24000 – 26000 (pro rata) depending on experience. Company pension and free onsite parking is available. 22 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata)
