During these very strange times of uncertainty, we have been very fortunate and it’s been another busy year at Bullock Consulting. Thirty five major projects were designed during 2020 and many schemes that were designed in 2018-19 were completed on site during the year, across all sectors including; Refurbishment of two hospital wards for Hywel Dda Health Board, several Covid field hospitals, the refurbishment of the main control room at Valero, a new primary school for Carmarthenshire County Council in Llandovery, the new Learning Hub and Atrium for Pembrokeshire College, and an animal care teaching hub at Folly Farm.
Other projects that were completed this year include the new 5 star spa and restaurant at Dylan coastal resort, Laugharne, Neyland community hub and ECB cricket centre, the Marine Centre of Excellence on Saundersfoot Harbour, the refurbishment of two sheltered housing complexes in Carmarthenshire and a number of boiler house refurbishments and electrical rewires for schools across Carmarthenshire which we anticipate will help to reduce carbon emissions and energy cost significantly.
The current outlook is that our small team will be kept busy again next year, and we sincerely hope this is the case and will be for all of you too, with our fingers crossed that the roll out of the vaccine will enable us all to get back to some sort of normality, socially, professionally and economically.
Next year some of the projects we anticipate moving forward with include three new PassivHaus primary schools which are currently under construction for Carmarthenshire County Council, a number of schemes already on the drawing board ready to go to tender in the new year, including mechanical ventilation schemes for twelve dental surgeries for Hywel Dda Health Board and a large ventilation scheme for the Halliwell Theatre in Carmarthen for Trinity St Davids University.
Major schemes at Valero and Bluestone Holiday resort are also in the pipeline. We also continue to be busy with energy certification and compliance and as we look towards a move in the near future of heating our homes and buildings with electrically based systems as we see more and more renewable energy sources supplying our National Grid and providing cleaner energy.
We are fortunate enough to be currently advising local Housing Associations and Local Authorities of how this can be best achieved to future standards.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our clients and partners for all of the support given during 2020 and wish you a happy and prosperous 2021, now more than ever.
