Out with the old problems, in with a proper engineered solution ⚙️

This conveyor drive setup was causing excessive stress on the drive shaft due to the lack of a drive coupling or designed failure point. The result? Either the shaft bends… or the gearbox destroys itself.

To solve the issue, we relocated the motor gearbox, manufactured mounting plates and redesigned the drive arrangement to reduce stress and improve reliability. As part of the upgrade, we installed a new chain and sprocket drive system complete with taper lock bushes, making it a more serviceable setup. Adding in new guarding in the possess.

The finished result is a far more reliable drive system built to handle the workload properly while protecting both the shaft and gearbox from unnecessary damage 💪

Today was all about smart upgrades and real efficiency gains for our customer 👷‍♂️⚙️

We tackled two key issues on site:

🔹 Stopping product loss on conveyors
The existing conveyor system was missing product, leading to unnecessary waste and lost revenue. We identified the root cause, made the necessary adjustments, and fine-tuned the setup to ensure smooth, consistent transfer. Less waste. Better yield. More profit.

🔹 Improving and tidying a poor manufacturing install
We reworked part of the line to clean up a previous install that wasn’t performing as it should. The upgrade not only improved flow and accessibility but also included the addition of an extra drain-off point to enhance functionality and future-proof the system.

Efficiency isn’t always about big changes — sometimes it’s about the right improvements in the right places.
