𝗜𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Managing Director, Nick Redfearn, on 19th May 2026 following a period of illness.
Nick acquired Amber Industries in 2006 and dedicated the last twenty years to developing and leading the business with professionalism, determination, and integrity. Under his leadership, Amber Industries strengthened its reputation within the materials handling and industrial engineering sectors, building long-standing relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues throughout the industry.
Nick graduated from King’s College London in 1980 with a BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering before later completing an MBA at Manchester Business School in 1988. Throughout his distinguished career, he held senior leadership positions with OTIS Plc, Clyde Blowers Plc, Butterley Engineering Limited, and FKI Logistex.
Nick was widely respected for his engineering knowledge, leadership, and commitment to the business throughout his career.
Outside of work, Nick was married to Kathryn and greatly enjoyed spending time in his garden. He also had a particular passion for woodworking, along with an appreciation for classic cars. Nick lived in Sheffield and was a proud Yorkshireman.
Amber Industries would also like to reassure customers, suppliers, and colleagues that the company continues to operate with its existing management structure in place. The experienced team Nick built around the business remains fully committed to maintaining the standards, service, and long-term relationships that have been established over many years.
Nick will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
