we have harnessed the power of the wind and sun and fixed the lack of power and comms; all year round, even in the in winter. A wireless data relay to provide an essential service to our client. This is the first of many sites that we’ve been asked to assist with the remote for an infrastructure client. Much more still to come!

Hoping to merge the Back of Beyond Broadband page with this Craine Comms Ltd page by Facebook in the next wee while.

This set up was created for a client in the middle of the Kintyre peninsula. Very impressed by the equipment as it's not skipped a beat during the biggest storms of the year so far...more extreme site projects like this are nearly ready to go in the next few months!

A bit of dreich end to the week but this is the final setup to relay a solution through to a very remote client. This turbine and from Leading Edge will take the beating it'll get over the next 4 months and turn it into a rock solid power source for the (down and upload) connection to the site.

This project has been a challenge from the start but it has been embraced and the connection was made for the client.

This new Back of Beyond Broadband client is constructing a new windfarm to extend this existing one in the hills of Kintyre. They contacted me to provide a 100Mbps (symmetrically up and download speeds) connection to their compound.

This setup in the photo was temporary to allow a full time solution to be found. Connected to and powered from the compound 900m away via CAT6 Ethernet cable. The Power of Ethernet (PoE) can normally power a radio up to a maximum length of 100m but specialist adapters allowed this PoE option to be extended to the full 900m length.

The final solution will include a PowerBox from the renewables solution company, Leading Edge, a BoBB link relay on a nearby peak. This will allow a full connection to the construction companies cloud system to keep the operations running smoothly. More to follow on that.

The site has closed down for the Christmas break so I’m able to catch up on the to do list and to also enjoy Christmas with my family.
