Horizon recently completed a lightning protection upgrade on behalf of a council at a multi-storey residential block.

Working safely within an occupied building, our team installed eight new air finials, upgraded conductor routes and carried out bonding works to rooftop plant, helping improve protection for critical infrastructure while minimising disruption to residents.

The project was completed with testing and inspection in accordance with BS EN 62305, providing certification to support ongoing compliance and asset management.

🎀 October Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

Breast cancer is more than a statistic. It affects mothers, daughters, sisters, partners, friends, colleagues - and families everywhere.

1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime.

Breast cancer can affect men too. While it is much rarer, around 420 men are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we want to do more than wear pink. We want to raise awareness, encourage early detection, support those affected, and help fund the research that could save lives.

There are simple ways we can all make a difference:

🎀 Know the signs - and get to know what is normal for you. If you notice a change in your breast or armpit, speak to your GP.

🔎 Prioritise screening - attend your breast screening appointments when invited. Early detection can make a significant difference.

💗 Support someone you know - sometimes the most powerful thing you can offer is your time, a conversation, or simply being there.

💷 Support research - donate to organisations funding vital research into prevention, earlier diagnosis and better treatments.

📣 Use your voice - share reliable information, encourage others to check themselves, and help keep breast cancer awareness going beyond October.

We believe that awareness can lead to action, and action can help create a future where more lives are saved. And importantly, this message is for men too. Breast cancer in men may be rare, but it is real - so men should also be aware of changes to their chest or ni***es and speak to their GP if something doesn't feel right.

☕🍰 Macmillan Coffee Morning 2026! 🍰☕

We got together for a cuppa, a catch-up and, most importantly, plenty of cake - all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. 💚

From famous sausage rolls to homemade bakes and shop-bought favourites, there was something for everyone around the table! 🥐🍪🧁

Thanks to everyone who baked, bought, donated and joined us. Together, we raised £71 so far for this brilliant cause. 🙌

👖💙 Jeans for Genes Day! 💙👖

Today we’re swapping our usual workwear for our jeans and helping to raise awareness and funds for people and families living with genetic conditions.
Everyone has made a small contribution to take part, and we’re really pleased to have raised £40 so far! 🎉

It’s amazing what a small donation from each person can add up to, and every penny helps support the important work being done to improve the lives of those affected by genetic conditions across the UK.

A big thank you to everyone who got involved, donated and, of course, donned their denim! 👖💙

A look back at one of London’s most iconic landmarks and the work we carried out. 🏗️

Back in 2003, Horizon completed specialist repair works to the iconic dome canopy at St Pancras Station, putting our specialist access and repair expertise to work on one of London’s most recognisable heritage structures.

And here’s a St Pancras fact we love…

When it opened in 1868, its enormous single-span train shed was the largest ironwork structure of its kind in the world, designed by civil engineer William Henry Barlow. Even more interestingly, the space beneath the platforms was used to store b**r transported from Burton-on-Trent. 🍺

A great throwback to a project where modern specialist expertise met some seriously impressive Victorian engineering.

2003 → 2026. Over two decades of specialist expertise.

We’re delighted to introduce Mandy Garewal properly, Deputy MD at Horizon, as part of our latest Meet the Staff feature.

Since joining Horizon three months ago, Mandy has been getting to know the industry, our customers and, most importantly, the people who make the business what it is.

With a background in transformation and a real passion for supporting people, Mandy is focused on helping Horizon continue to grow, strengthen collaboration across our Group and share best practice between our OpCos.

Her approach? Curiosity, listening and patience - along with staying focused on the end goal and taking pride in the quality of your work.
