A bit more about us:
We are a local family owned and run business that was originally set up in 1967 by Brian Hayes (Samantha’s Father). Back then and until 6 years ago we were located on Watnall Road, Hucknall and combined the Warm Air Heating business with air conditioning, a small Petrol Station and a Garden Machinery business (Airways Garden Machinery/Airways MowerCo) that sold, serviced and repaired all types of Garden machinery. Brian when originally setting up the Business very quickly became an expert in the Warm Air Heating arena and worked with many of the big Manufacturers, which created strong links that have stood us in good stead right up to the current day. Back in the late 60s/early 70s when Warm Air Heating was first introduced to the UK market there were plenty of big installation jobs that kept Airways very busy. Originally Brian also had his own duct making side to the business and worked with many Residential and Business Customers by designing and building ducting and fitting all aspects to new systems of Warm Air Heating from start to finish. Richard joined Airways as a Heating Engineer back in March 2007 and since then to now he has built up a great wealth of experience and knowledge on the various Warm Air Heaters that he works on on a daily basis. Richard has great working relationships with all our suppliers and doesn’t like to be defeated whenever he comes across an unusual fault - we have often been asked by one of our Manufacturers to attend a fault for someone with their equipment that others have struggled on! Before working as a Heating Engineer for Airways Richard’s background was Customer Service and then Installations & Faults Engineer (Telecoms industry). Samantha joined Airways in November 2007 and has first hand experience of Warm Air Heating, as she grew up in her family home where a Lennox Pulse Unit was fitted (with an electronic air cleaner and add on cooling too). She gained some knowledge helping her Father out from time to time over the years and now supports her Husband Richard with the running of Airways. She will be answering the Telephone, picking up parts, assisting with fault diagnosis, or, booking in heater service/breakdown work for Richard to then attend and also managing many other aspects. Before working for Airways Samantha’s background was in Accounts (one of the big Accounting firms) and Customer Service (Telecoms industry). When Brian decided he was ready to semi-retire a few years ago now (he is now in his 80s after all) both Richard & Samantha took over the running of Airways Heating Limited. Brain still helps us out from time to time from going out to meet with new, or, existing Customers to help us complete Quotations for heating replacements ...and has been known to race (not literally) down to Northampton on occasion to pick up an emergency heater, or, replacement heater part(s) from one of our 2 suppliers located there for Customers with no heat! Last year he made it just in time to pick up a replacement heater for a Customer just before Johnson & Starley shut for the Christmas/New Year period - what a super hero - our Customer certainly thought that both Brian was for fetching it and Richard too for fitting it!
