On Saturday 7th December 2024 Hainford Village Hall was host to an evening of musical entertainment by local band The HUGS. Guests were welcomed with a glass of warmed mulled wine and mince pies, with refreshments available throughout the evening.

The HUGS are principally a ukulele group who all sing. Led by Julia Bloomfield, the group boasts a permanent bass guitar player. Several members of the group display their talents on other instruments which made for a varied evening of mainly Christmas music. The guests were encouraged to sing along with many of the numbers with song sheets and jingle bells for every table. The music was interspersed with funny and thoughtful poetry readings.

From Christmas carols to Eartha Kitt and sea shanties via Vivaldi, The HUGS strutted their stuff with enthusiasm, humour and good will.

It was a pleasant musical and sociable evening at the start of the Christmas season.
The HUGS were very grateful to members of the audience who helped to clear away tables and decorations after the performance. £225 was raised for Hainford Village Hall funds.
The next Christmas show is Friday 12 December 2025.
The HUGS meet Tuesday mornings at Hainford Village Hall and will resume meetings in January 2025.”

We were delighted that Councillor Dan Roper joined us on the field at Hainford Village Hall yesterday to officially open our Traverse Wall.

Our grateful thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund for the Grant which enabled us to have such a brilliant piece of equipment for our community.

Thank you to Finding Fitness for supplying and installing the equipment.

Thanks also to Kevin Saggers for capturing the moment on camera.
