Our largest roof (to date) completed in just 1 day.

Our new customer contacted us expaining that he had 70 roof trusses, which he required to be picked and placed individually at 400 centres.

He initially told us he thought we’d be needed for at least a day and a half.

With a little advise, planning and some well organised people onsite, CCS knocked this out of the park in just 1 day, by utilising the reach of our larger Hoeflon C10e all electric spider crane.

The Hoeflon C6e, glazing from positions other cranes can only dream of.

The variable outriggers on the C6e allow complete versatility making areas only 3.6m wide a possibility.

Not only was the working area tight, these units also had to be passed through the opening and drawn back into the curtain wall system.

Working with the professional team at Fortis Heavy Lifting this installation was completed efficiently and 1 day ahead of the planned schedule.

Since July 2023 Compact Crane Services has been required to remain tight lipped about this job, but now we can finally proudly announce that we were given the opportunity to appear on Grand Designs (02.10.2024).

Still to date these 2 central glass units remain the largest and heaviest we’ve lifted at nearly 750kg each.

With no way of transporting the large units to the rear of the property, we utilised both of our Hoeflon C6e’s and passed the rear unit through the middle of the building.

Using one crane at the front of the property we transferred the unit to the other crane which was waiting in the rear garden.

Throughout the whole process we only had 25mm to spare to all sides. Needless to say the job couldn’t have gone any smoother, once again with Gary on the controls he knocked this installation out of the park.

Big thanks to Dan Rix at DLR Industrial Services for handling the contractural side of this job.

COMPACT SPIDER CRANE OPERATOR REQUIRED

Due to considerable growth we are currently looking to recruit a compact spider crane operator on a full time, permanent basis in the Norwich area.

No experience is required as full training will be provided, though construction site experience and HGV license would be beneficial.
Working from premises in rackheath the applicant would need to be from the Norwich area.

Because of insurance restrictions regarding machinery and vehicles, applicants are required to be a minimum of 30 years of age.

Working with a new company Eco Anglia we were given the opportunity to assist with these 1st floor glazed units.

We’ve found that with many new customers our first job always seems to have plenty of labour onsite too.
It doesn’t take long before these companies soon realise there’s labour saving to be made.

Our new vacuum lifter by ViaVac is only 400mm wide and has a maximum capacity of 500kg.
