As a qualified registered member of Gas Safe, I was interested to see that since its launch Gas Safe has carried out more than 2,200 investigations into illegal gas fitters; there have been 56 prosecutions from January to November 2012; and a total of £341,950 in total fines (this excludes awarded costs).

Well we've now had two sharp frosts this year and it looks like things will get colder; one of the main problems that todays modern boilers face is the freezing of their condense drain pipes thus rendering the boiler unoperational. If you're concerned about how reliable your boiler will be in adverse conditions please feel free to contact me. Stay warm Northampton ; )

Click on the link below for loads of handy tips on how to save energy and ££'s including insulation tips and advice on switching suppliers (good to know after British Gas announced their price hike last week!) Interestingly, The Energy Saving Trust claims that home owners can save up to £300 per year by upgrading to an energy efficient condensing boiler.
