For the first 20 years, the company worked as a supplier of complex technical polymer components. However, in 1983 Frank Blase established reinforced plastic Energy Chain Systems® and injection moulded polymer bearings as two distinct product groups and set up a network of sales engineers. These seemingly unrelated products are linked together through the belief in making functionally advanced, yet affordable polymer components and assemblies. igus® UK Limited was founded in a small office 1991 in Daventry, Northamptonshire. Today igus® UK is based in a 2,800 square feet industrial unit just 10 minutes away from the M1, enabling even quicker collection and delivery times. The modern, spacious building also has ample car parking facilities and generous delivery vehicle access. Today igus® UK employs 66 employees within the Sales. Marketing, Tele-marketing, Accounts and Warehouse Departments.
