Modatek is an official distributor for genuine Cosworth parts for their historic race and road engines. We can supply parts for a wide range of engines originally built by Cosworth, including the SCA, FVA, MAE, DFV, YB and BD engines. We even supply parts for some of their more recent Formula 1 engines. In addition, Modatek has exclusive access to the thousands of drawings of Cosworth's historic racing engines. This means that where the original supply of parts no longer exists, we can reverse engineer and re-supply. Modatek also provide a consultancy service to automotive and motor sport engineering companies, and over the years we have worked across a wide spectrum of race categories, such as Formula 1, Indycar, Le Mans, NASCAR and WRC.

The answer to yesterday's "guess the Formula 1 car" quiz is ... Embassy Hill Lola T370.

This car was made specifically for Graham Hill's new F1 team for 1974, powered of course by the Cosworth DFV. Hill went on to build their own car, the GH1, the following season.

In this week's email newsletter we take a look at the cylinder blocks from the two V8 engines that bookended Cosworth’s illustrious time in Formula 1.

On the left is the cylinder block from the CA2010, and on the right is the DFV. This photo perfectly illustrates what over 40 years of development in Formula 1 looks like in a single image. Admittedly, the capacity of the CA2010 engine was 80% that of the DFV, but the power output of the CA2010 was double what came out of the DFV and the CA2010 had to last around six times longer.
