Eight months on from the introduction of the new Workplace Transport Groupings, many businesses are still unsure whether their operators’ training covers the equipment they’re using - especially specialist attachments.

PUWER requires operators to be trained and authorised on the specific equipment they operate. A general forklift qualification doesn’t automatically cover drum handlers, safety cages, scoops or bespoke lifting attachments.

If you haven’t reviewed your training records recently, now is the time.

Peak season in warehousing and logistics starts long before Christmas stock hits the shelves - and for most operators, the planning starts now.

Before fleets ramp up for Q4, it's worth checking that attachments can keep pace with it:
· Are Thorough Examination records current for the busier months ahead?
· Is every attachment still correctly matched to the trucks it's fitted to?
· Has anything been sitting idle that needs a pre-use check before it goes back into daily service?

A few checks in August save a lot of downtime in later months.

As more businesses trial autonomous equipment, attachment compliance is becoming one of the most overlooked gaps. A software update doesn’t replace a Thorough Examination.

This crane-slung access platform is currently making its way through production, with our fabrication team working on the structure before it moves on to the next stages of manufacture and finishing.

Photos like this give a great glimpse behind the scenes at what goes into our products before you see the finished attachment.

From raw steel and fabrication through to finishing, inspection and despatch, it's all part of the process carried out by our experienced team here in Mid Wales.
And with more than 50 years in the forklift attachment industry, that experience goes a long way.

Today is A-Level Results Day - a big moment for thousands of students deciding what comes next.

Engineering and manufacturing offer a genuinely broad range of routes in design and fabrication, technical and compliance specialisms, quality assurance, project management, and hands-on skilled trades. There's no single path into the sector, which is part of what makes it interesting.

Apprenticeships, technical training and degree routes all lead somewhere different - and all can lead somewhere hugely rewarding.
