The Riverside Centre The Riverside Centre is a diverse, multi-use community venue located in central Newport with function rooms to hire, for 3 to 300 people.

Home to Community Action Isle of Wight, all our profits return to fund their community projects. The Riverside is a thriving community venue located next to Newport Harbour in the centre of the Isle of Wight. Run by Community Action IW, it is a place of integration in both ethos and practice and is used by a diverse group of people and organisations day and night. Accessible - The Riverside is a f

ully accessible building with toilets in accordance with the Changing Places campaign, induction-loop facilities, handrails, emergency cords and experienced staff. The Riverside community embraces diversity through its policies and practice of integration, inclusivity & accessibility. Being welcoming to all and centrally located, the Riverside is a great place to hold an event, whatever the occasion. It is available for meetings, weddings, parties, conferences, exhibitions, regular groups and any other form of gathering you may require. We have a fully licensed bar and catering facilities and a range of equipment and services that can be hired. Conference and Training Facilities

We have function rooms of varying size that can accommodate up to 300 people. We have the largest function room available to hire in Newport. Why not hire one of our training rooms for a meeting, seminar or training session? Free WiFi access is also available.

Coming Together for Cancer - Free Event, 1st July!

We've spent months listening to Island residents share their experiences of cancer services. Now it's time to share what you told us.

Join us on Wednesday 1st July, 10am–3pm at The Riverside Centre, Newport for a free community event where we'll present the findings of our cancer services review, open up the conversation, and start shaping what changes next.

On the day: findings presentation, panel Q&A with senior health professionals, information stalls, free afternoon tea, a live choir workshop with Sing for Life, and wellbeing taster sessions.

Free to attend. No booking needed. Everyone welcome.

WHO ARE WE?🤷‍♂️

The Riverside Centre is a thriving community venue located next to Newport Harbour in the centre of the Isle of Wight. Home to Community Action Isle of Wight, it has long been a place of integration in both ethos and practice, and is used by a diverse group of people and organisations.

Community Action took over the running of the building in 2015, with the aim of generating revenue through commercial activities to fund and support our charitable work, as well as offering services and support to island residents, charities and community organisations alike.

In much the same way other charities have second-hand high street shops to raise money, we have a venue with meeting rooms which we hire out on an hourly or daily basis. We also offer office space on a more permanent basis and are home to a variety of charities and community organisations.

We support other island-based charities and community groups by offering flexible discounted rates on room hire and in conjunction with the expertise of Community Action, offer help, guidance and organisational support.
