With here, we’re taking a moment to look back at what’s been an incredible year for our British Engines Group apprentices.

1. Taking part in 3 x Military Challenge Days with the British Army
2. A trip to the Lake District to take part in a range of team-building activities
3. A total of 29 new apprentices joined us across the businesses
4. Attending the British Engines Beyond Awards to celebrate achievements
5. Six apprentices were nominated at the TDR Awards by our training provider

We’re incredibly proud of the dedication, skills and achievements shown by the apprentices across the programme.

As part of , we were delighted to welcome Year 8 students from Wellfield Middle School , giving them an insight into just how varied and rewarding a career in engineering can be.

After learning more about CMP and the wider Group, the students toured all three CMP factories for a behind-the-scenes look at how our cable glands and cable cleats are manufactured and assembled. They also enjoyed hands-on experience assembling TruSeal glands – sparking curiosity and helping them better understand how our products come together.

Inspiring the next generation is a key part of our commitment to the industry – and who knows, we may even have met some of our future apprentices.

As featured on Bdaily, we have launched our apprenticeship scheme, reinforcing our commitment to developing future engineering talent across the North East.

With 20 vacancies available, the programme supports young people at the start of their careers, offering hands-on experience, industry-recognised qualifications and long-term development opportunities within British Engines.

Anyone aged 16 and above can apply on our website before Sunday 18 January to start in September 2026.

This Christmas, colleagues across the British Engines group came together to support the Newcastle Foodbank, donating a van full of food and essential items to help individuals and families in our local community.

These donations will help provide vital support during the colder months and contribute towards a warmer, more secure Christmas for those who need it most. The West End Foodbank continues to welcome donations from anyone looking to support their work.
