Social Values Project- MacIntyre at New Routes Community Gardens

We recently took part in a social values project alongside Equans to help renovate the New Routes Centre Garden and Allotments alongside the fantastic MacIntyre charity. This social values project showcases our community driven approach to supporting local charities alongside multinational parties as well as champion local causes and giving back to the community we are a part of.

We donated volunteering time, painting supplies and paint towards the project. We were able to help complete huge sections of the work including digging out old soil beds, laying new gravel down and painting works.

A Spokesperson, Sarah from MacIntyre said 'We were blown away by the effort and commitment people gave to every volunteer day, people came from near and far, the hard work was just amazing even in torrential weather. We could not have dreamt of all the different jobs that were completed to help us get everywhere ready for our fundraising event. Thank you again and please come back soon'.

AP Mitchell Group successfully delivered a major decarbonisation project for Liverpool John Moores University, focused on the Max Perutz Building. The works included the full design, installation, and commissioning of low-carbon heating solutions to support the university’s sustainability and net zero targets.

The scope of works comprised the construction of a new plantroom to accommodate high-capacity water source heat pumps, alongside the development of an external compound to house air source heat pumps, complete with a secure acoustic enclosure. These installations provide the building with an efficient, renewable heating system, significantly reducing reliance on traditional fossil-fuel-based plant.

AP Mitchell Group acted as principal contractor, undertaking the mechanical, electrical, and BMS (Building Management System) installations, as well as providing comprehensive design, project management, and commissioning services. The project required careful coordination with the university’s estates team to ensure minimal disruption to building operations, while delivering a future-proofed, sustainable energy solution.

The scheme, valued at £600,000, demonstrates AP Mitchell Group’s capability in delivering complex decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects within the higher education sector.

Chiller Replacement at Liverpool John Moores University – Tom Reilly Building

After successfully replacing a chiller at the Max Perutz Building, APMitchell was awarded another chiller replacement project at Liverpool John Moores University’s Tom Reilly Building. This £400,000 project focused on upgrading the cooling power of the chillers and meeting client requirements.

Immediately following this project, APM will return to the Max Perutz Building to install Mitsubishi Air source and Water source heat pumps. APM is set to deliver over £1m of projects to LJMU in 2025 - This continued collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University reflects APM’s commitment to delivering high-quality building services and building long-term client relationships.
