* RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT*
I have been asked to write a post to let everyone know, so here goes. We would like to let everyone know that after 26 years of wonderful business, Dave and Juliet have now hung up their hoses and retired. I just want to say this publicly DavidDavid McNeilare an incredible man, best boss, best employer and mentor anyone could wish for. I would never want to work for anyone else, I think us, the staff of Pws NPws Neathd agree. Hugely respected by everyone you know. And yes I will be in the dog house if I don’t mention JulieJuliet McNeilother who was always there and behind/beside Dave. You are equally appreciated is what I’m saying lol.
I think this is accurate enough but please feel free to correct WilliWilliam Welham story began in 2000 on a farm in Bryncoch. After carrying out some Kärcher repairs for Hale's Plant & Construction in Neath Abbey, or was it Rhys Jones? They took a leap of faith. With a small loan from mam Mair, they bought a second hand Ford es**rt van, some new Kärcher pressure washers tools and equipment. With a lot of belief and determination, Pressure Washer Services was born.
Working from the farm, Dave, Juliet, and Will, whom Dave had met at Hale's plant, began building the business from the ground up. Customers were often greeted first by our unofficial front of house staff member Owen the German Shepherd, who had a habit of climbing into customers cars. We never had any trouble though.
The farm days created memories that have stayed with us ever since. Looking back, one of our favourite untold secret stories was the night Dave and Will found themselves looking for a dead sheep in the dark and burying it not to upset the farmer next door, only for Will to remind Dave that, "This definitely isn't in my contract!"
As the business grew, we outgrew the farm and moved to a small unit in Pontardawe. Around this time, I MatthMatthew Bowleyed the team straight out of McDonald’s. A huge loss to McDonald’s. Will was over the moon with it. I knew nothing, I didn’t know how to change a light bulb. I found myself in this job, meeting all the customers, doing Will’s head in. Head locking with Dave at 8am in the canteen, but it was great.
Over the years, PWS continued to grow. We've been fortunate to work with incredible employees, loyal customers, trusted suppliers, and wonderful people who we now consider friends forever. We would like to thank every past and present member of staff who helped make PWS what it became. As a family business, you were all part of the family.
To all of our customers, thank you for your loyalty, support, and custom over the last 26 years. We simply couldn't have done it without you.
While it is sad to close this chapter, we would like to congratulate Derrick Stowe and warmly welcome him and his team from ECA Cleaning Supplies. We have every confidence that our customers will continue to receive the same level of service, care, and support that has always been at the heart of PWS.
For David and Juliet, the time has finally come to embrace retirement and enjoy the next chapter. After 26 years of hard work, challenges, achievements, friendships, and plenty of laughs, it's time to slow down and enjoy a well-earned rest.
To Dave and Jul, thankyou for looking after us boys and making sure we came first during the hard times.
