RECORD-BREAKING BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND

Thank you to everyone who ordered from us over the Bank Holiday weekend. We knew it had been busy, but we didn't think we run out of paper trying to print all the orders! Now we’ve just got to get it all out of the yard!

A lot more than one new panel has just landed. We’ve expanded our decorative fencing range with new low-level garden panels, diamond lattice trellis, garden gates and smooth rounded-top UC4 posts—giving you more choice when appearance matters just as much as the boundary itself.

The new range includes traditional Cross Top and Elite Cross Top panels, contemporary horizontal slatted panels, trellis in several heights, decorative gate options and smooth planed posts for a cleaner finished installation. Ideal for front gardens, driveways, patios, paths, seating areas, climbing plants and garden spaces where a standard six-foot fence would feel too heavy or enclosed.

Everything is pressure treated for outdoor use, with collection available from Briton Ferry and local delivery across South Wales.

We’re hiring at Wern-Wood.

We’re looking for an experienced Order Picker / Vehicle Loader to join our yard team in Briton Ferry.

This is a busy, hands-on role picking timber and building material orders, loading vehicles, keeping stock organised, and helping keep deliveries moving.

This is not a trainee position. We need someone with previous timber yard, builders merchant or similar experience, plus real forklift and loading experience.

Pay starts from £13.00 per hour, with a wage review once experience and performance are proven.

We’ve just put out a new jingle, and now there’s an illegal rave in Briton Ferry.

Coincidence? Probably.

But if the whole area’s suddenly rushing for the best timber prices around, we can’t say we’re shocked.

Section 35 | A Section 35 dispersal order has been authorised and is currently in effect within the Briton Ferry Docks area.

There will be an increased police presence in and around this location throughout the night and across the course of the weekend. Any individuals attending or travelling to the area with the intention of participating in anti-social behaviour, disorder, or other unlawful activity will be directed to leave. Those who fail to comply with such directions may be subject to arrest.

The Section 35 will be in effect until 3pm on Sunday May 24.

Sergeant Molly Llewellyn said: "With the forthcoming bank holiday weekend and the associated warm weather forecast, it is recognised that many individuals will wish to socialise and enjoy this period. However, it is essential that all such activities take place in a safe and lawful manner.

"Unlicensed music events, commonly referred to as “raves”, present significant risks not only to those in attendance but also to the wider community. These risks include - but are not limited to - increased levels of anti-social behaviour, public disorder, violence, drug and alcohol misuse, and the presence of unsafe environments.

"Members of the public are strongly advised not to attend such gatherings. Additionally, anyone with information relating to these activities is encouraged to report it to the police."
