With permission from Gabe and his parents, here’s a little 2-minute clip of us removing the old bath! 🛁🔧

What a helping hand he was yesterday! A great listener, keen to learn and more than happy to get stuck in.

Certainly made my job a lot easier, wouldn’t have managed that bath without him! 😂👏

Great having you along, Gabe! 🙏

🔧 A New Face on the Tools Today! 👷‍♂️

Today we had Gabriel Gabriel Brodie joining us at Heating Solutions Alba for some work experience!

Gabriel spent the day working alongside with myself in laurencekirk helping us rip out an existing bathroom in preparation for its transformation into a new walk-in shower. 🚿

He got stuck right in, showed a fantastic attitude and wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty! A brilliant effort from him today. 👏

This was his first day And this certainly won’t be Gabriel’s last day with us! We’ve got more jobs coming up that he’ll be joining us on, giving him the chance to experience different aspects of the trade and continue building his skills and confidence. 🔧

It’s great being able to give the younger generation an insight into the plumbing and heating trade, and hopefully inspire the next generation of engineers.

We’d also like to say a massive thank you to all our customers for continuing to support our family business. Without your support, opportunities like this wouldn’t be possible!

Well done today, Gabriel! A pleasure having you on the team! 💪

🎥 And keep an eye on our page — with permission, we’ve got some footage of Gabriel getting stuck into the work, which we’ll be sharing soon!

🚨 Sunday Emergency Call-Outs

First job of the day was in Montrose for a radiator leaking from both sides!

The customer had fitted the radiator tails and attempted to connect everything themselves, but unfortunately both sides were leaking.
as you will see the valves didn’t turn off properly 😂😭
We drained down the system,re-taped the radiator tails, applied jointing paste to the olives and replaced the pipework on one side due to damage.

✅ Leaks sorted and radiator back up and running!

Then it was off to Portlethen for an emergency shower job at an Airbnb! 🚿🏡

🔧 Boiler Replacement Completed in Montrose! 🔥

Today we completed a boiler swap for a customer in Montrose.

The customer’s existing boiler was getting on in age, and with the cost of repairs becoming difficult to justify, replacing it was the more economical long-term option.

Fortunately, the new boiler could be installed in the exact same position as the old one, meaning minimal alterations to the existing pipework were required, helping keep installation costs down for the customer. ✅

Another home ready for the colder months ahead! 🏡

Shower Leak Repair – Brechin!

Called out to a property in Brechin today after water started coming through the ceiling whenever the upstairs shower was running! 💧

The plasterboard was completely soaked and water-damaged, so we cut away the affected section to gain access and replaced the faulty shower waste.

Full Circle – 37 Years Later!

we completed a boiler swap in Laurencekirk, but this one was a little bit special!

The job took us back to the former Mitchell’s Plumbing & Heating building — the very place where it all started for my dad back in 1989.

37 years later, he’s back working in the same building, this time with our own family business, Heating Solutions Alba Ltd.

From where it all began to where we are today. ! 💙
