Ross Agri Services Limited

Ross Agri Services Limited Dealers of new & used tractors/machinery. Specialist hydraulic engineers. General blacksmiths/fabricators/precision engineers & agricultural contractors.

Ross Agri is a family business run by Martin, Bill and Ethel Ross. Over the years, Ross Agri has grown from humble beginnings into one of the leading suppliers of new and used tractors in Scotland and the UK. HISTORY
In 1972, Bill and Ethel Ross took out a loan to begin a farming machine hire business to supplement Bill’s income as a telephone engineer. Hiring farm equipment to local farmers prove

d to be very popular. Business flourished and by 1976, Bill and Ethel had added agricultural contracting to their services. Five years later the company developed further when the couple bought over a spare parts business. Ross Agri was developing an enviable reputation for problem solving and reliability for their growing customer base. REPUTATION
This reputation was a significant factor when Ross Agri attracted the prestigious Valtra tractor franchise in 1984, a move which was complemented by the Fendt franchise in 1988. As brands, both Valtra and Fendt are renowned for their reliability, versatility and longevity, qualities which correspond with Ross Agri’s ethos. Securing these franchises had a major impact on the development of the company as a real force in the world of tractor suppliers in the UK. EXPANSION
The business expanded further in 1996 when Bill and Ethel bought over a steel fabrication business and again in 2000, when Martin, a precision engineer, became a partner in the business and established the machine shop. In 2003, the company opened a second branch at Turriff to cope with the increasing demand for their services and today the business continues to thrive. The Ross family have always sought to expand and grow their business in a manageable, sustainable way. They are proud of their reputation for excellent service and reliability.

🔧 What’s your role and what does a typical day look like for you?
“I’m a welder fabricator and every day is different. I either work in St Cyrus or at client sites, making things like gates, railings, walkways, pipework and more.”

🌱 What do you enjoy most about working here?
“5pm! No, I’m joking - I enjoy the variety of things I get to work on.”

🚜 Why did you join Ross Agri?
“I’ve been here two years in September. I like the security of the role. I saw the advert and knew I wanted to apply and work at Ross Agri.”

🏆 What’s been your proudest achievement since starting?
“Supporting senior management to ensure the welding and fabrication department runs smoothly. I’ve also worked on some unique projects, like customer gates in St Cyrus where the ground levels were different.”

The Faces Behind Ross Agri – Meet Kay 👋

Kay is a key part of the team, bringing hands-on experience and a real passion for machinery and problem-solving.

🔧 What’s your role and what does a typical day look like for you?
“I'm an agricultural engineer. It depends on what I’m asked to do, from services to repairs on tractors, and sometimes forklifts and telehandlers. Whatever’s thrown at me.”

🌱 What do you enjoy most about working here?
“The environment is the most enjoyable part. I love working on tractors and repairing things. I’m happy fixing problems.”

🚜 Why did you join Ross Agri?
“When I was back home in South Africa, I was presented with an opportunity to work at Ross Agri. I did a lot of research on the product, and it aligned with me. It’s a new environment and a different experience from back home, but that’s what attracted me.”

🏆 What’s been your proudest achievement since starting?
“My biggest achievement is carrying out major repairs on tractors. I’ve worked on other brands, but this has been great experience. I’ve also adapted well to the new environment, which I’m proud of.”

Great to have you on the team, Kay - your attitude and skills are a real asset! 👏
