Following ten years employment in heavy industry, a further seventeen invaluable years experience with a major UK HV Switchgear manufacturer allowed in depth knowledge to be gained in the following areas :
Short circuit testing – testing to BSEN, IEC, ANSI standards with a huge variety of products ranging from LV industrial switchboards to 400kV disconnectors
Retrofitting of HV ocb’s – first ha
nd experience of approximately 5,000 retrofit vcb or gcb installations, specialising in Brush/South Wales Switchgear oil based equipment
HV Switchgear applications – all type of switchgear modifications from simple mechanical component changes to complex protection schemes, to complete switchgear reconfiguration or determining the maximum thermal and short circuit capabilities of installed equipment
Design – involvement in design of new circuit breakers from initial marketing concept phase through to full product certification and launch into the marketplace
Installation/commissioning/maintenance – having previously managed thirty field based engineers and several sub contracting companies covering a wide range of site activities, we can accommodate any site installation/testing or maintenance requirements, ensuring the appropriate skilled personnel are provided, backed up by quality site documentation
Quality/warranty – considerable experience with quality and warranty issues in large manufacturing organisations ensure best practice and appropriate quality controls are in situ with Switchgear Support Ltd. We are open to audit and have been audited and successfully passed prequalification process with many of our blue chip clients
It is an essential requirement of conducting site works for any UK Distribution Network Operator (DNO) that we are Achilles Verify B1 approved. Switchgear Support Ltd attained this within the first 18 months of its operations.
