Self-Employed – We can offer regular, guaranteed work for the right people and can be alongside your other commitments. works include indoor winter works.

• Metal Fabricator / Welder

Join our skilled team of blacksmiths and fabricators to help deliver a wide range of custom metalwork projects.

At West Country Blacksmiths, no two days are the same. The variety of work makes this role both challenging and rewarding. If you have the skills, dedication, and attention to detail to produce work at the highest standard in the metalwork industry, we want to hear from you.

This is primarily a workshop-based role, but some site work will be required from time to time. You’ll support the team in preparing, producing, and finishing metalwork projects.

• Site Installer / General Metalworker

Play a key role in supporting both our workshop and onsite teams to deliver projects and assist with day-to-day operations.

This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for a multi-skilled person with a can-do attitude.

Tasks include (but are not limited to):
• Installing metalwork (gates, railings, handrails, staircases, balconies, etc.)
• Onsite and workshop-based painting and finishing (new and existing metalwork)
• Cutting, grinding, and preparing metal surfaces
• Handling deliveries and preparing materials for site
• Flexibility with working hours is essential, as is the willingness to stay away overnight when working outside the local area.

We’re pleased to share the completion of a set of traditionally styled gates for a property in Minehead, Somerset.

Crafted with a timeless 2/3 – 1/3 design, these gates offer both aesthetic appeal and practical functionality—ideal for retaining pets while allowing ease of regular use.
