We’re proud to share a great example of what true collaboration can achieve in manufacturing.
Working closely with the engineering team at our automotive OEM customer, alongside toolmaker Whiston Industries Ltd , we helped develop a complex deep drawn metal pressing that was not only fit for purpose—but optimised for long-term production success.
From the early design stages, the focus was on ensuring the component was fully compatible with the deep drawing process. By aligning design intent with manufacturing reality, we were able to eliminate potential issues before they reached the shop floor.
The result? A robust, high-quality component supported by tooling that has now been running in production for six years—with minimal maintenance required.
This project highlights the value of early supplier involvement, open collaboration, and designing with process capability in mind. It’s a testament to what can be achieved when customer, manufacturer, and toolmaker work as one team.
