We fitted this gate today thoughtfully designed by Tessa after lots of research. It goes as the entance to her beautiful walled garden. I really like it's simplicity and clean elements giving it some interest. My favourite part is of course the ball nuts holding the top scroll work on.

It's with a very heavy heart that I'm saying goodbye to my friend Stuart today. There's so much to be grateful for. I'm never far from a job we made together or a tool in the forge. Memories that will live on forever.

Happy forging in a different place Dudart.

Hard to capture this one well as was a tight steep staircase.
Handrail forged from 20mm round with 150mm long pineapple twist in the centre amd forged scrolled ends. All wore brushed and beeswaxed.
Fun forging this one and managed to convince customer to have my favourite twist in it.

We fitted a pair of side panels for these lovely wooden gates today. Traditional C scrolls collared on using 20 and 12mm wide x 6mm flat. I don't get to make collars very often so was really nice to revisit my old COSIRA books to refresh my memory. There's something about the smell of the old books that make me feel nice. Some barley twists on the 12mm square balustrades gives it a subtle bit of interest.

Some simple railings core drilled into face brickwork today. Building control compliant 1100mm high to keep people on the terrace safe. Slightly nervous drilling through super tough blue bricks especially when it was only 14mm from the edge but old faithful stayed true to me! Bought a fancy new Hilti bit to make sure i wasn't there for days getting through the first brick and it still took nearly 5 hours for 5 holes 250mm deep.
A lovely garden and view out onto the fields and we were well looked after by the great customers....biscuits, teas and chocolates!
Railings shot blasted, hot zinc sprayed, wet spray primed and top coated black.

Last week's disaster. Fedex flew into me and hit every panel on my drivers side. Luckily I didn't have any precious cargo and no one was hurt. Aside from my lovely Isuzu 😥

She's off to the fixers tomo and hopefully will return soon because I really like this one!

Second job of the year completed today. Estate fencing which will be left to to turn into that beautiful warm earthy orange brown rust colour. Really pleased with how these turned out and think they look right at hom here.
Another lovely customer who looked after us very well and kept us warm with tea!
Looking forward to returning when its warmed up a bit to see how the colour has developed.

We're now locked down for '25. Nice and clean in the forge and even the fancy table has got its blanket on! Thank you to all my customers for keeping me busy on fun projects and I'm looking forward to 2026 and all that it'll bring. Not least some quality time with my new press that I've not had a chance to play with.
Hope you all have a lovely Christmas x
