We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came to Ken’s funeral and helped give him such a wonderful send-off. It meant so much to us to see so many familiar faces there to remember and celebrate Ken’s life.

We have been truly touched by all the lovely cards, beautiful flowers and generous donations, and by every kind word and message we have received. To see just how many people took the time to think of Ken and show their love and support has been a great comfort to us as a family.

Ken would have been absolutely amazed and so very proud to see everyone there for him. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for helping us give Ken the send-off he deserved.

NOTICE OF DEPOT & OFFICES TEMPORARY CLOSURE

Please be advised that Salisbury & Wood will be closed on Wednesday 26th August 2026 to allow our team to attend the funeral of our esteemed colleague and former M.D. Mr Ken Bowmer.

We will resume normal business hours on Thursday 27th August at 7.30 a.m.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our much-thought of former Managing Director, Ken Bowmer.

Ken devoted nearly 50 years of his working life to Salisbury & Wood Builders Merchant. Through his hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment, he played a huge part in building the business and supporting generations of customers, colleagues, and friends.

To our family, he was a wonderful Husband, Dad & Grandad. To so many others, he was a respected boss, mentor, and friend, always willing to share his knowledge, offer advice, or stop for a chat.

His legacy will live on through the business he loved and the countless people whose lives he touched over the years. He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Ken's funeral service will take place at Christ Church, Holloway, on Wednesday 26th August at 11:00am. All who knew Ken are welcome to join us in celebrating his life and paying their respects.

Thank you, Ken, for everything you gave to Salisbury & Wood and to all of us. Your hard work, kindness, and dedication will never be forgotten.

What You’ll Be Doing:
✅ Safely operate HGV and Cranes to deliver building materials to various locations.
✅ Providing top quality customer service.
✅ Ensure timely delivery while adhering to all traffic regulations and safety protocols.
✅ In addition to your driving duties, we would expect you to be flexible and assist with yard/warehouse duties should the need arise.

What We’re Looking For:
🔹 Valid Class 2 Driving Licence with CPC is required
🔹 Valid HIAB Certification and experience is essential
🔹 Hardworking with a positive attitude.
🔹 Good attention to detail.
🔹 Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
🔹 A team player.
