It was a pleasure to exhibit at the DNWP Market Engagement Event at Energus yesterday.

It was a busy day speaking with SMEs, partners and the wider supply chain, with a clear focus on delivering better outcomes through collaboration 👏

We were pleased to share what we do at Forth, our wider capabilities across the business and how we turn complex engineering challenges into practical solutions.

The scale of what’s coming over the next 15 years really stood out, along with what it will mean for businesses across the region. Thank you to the organisers for putting on a great event and to everyone who stopped by to say hello!

Today we’re saying a big thank you and goodbye to Ken Johnston.

Ken has played a big part in what we do at Forth, particularly around our social value impact across Cumbria 👏

He’s supported initiatives like the Baton of Hope and fundraising for Goodlives, while also helping to create opportunities for young people such as work experience, site visits from local schools and supporting local sports teams.

Ken has been a great ambassador for Forth, both within the business and out in the community. Thank you for everything, Ken, and all the best in your new role. 👏

At Forth, social value plays a vital role in how we operate as a business. Ken Johnston shares how that approach comes to life, including our involvement in the Baton of Hope and our ongoing support for Goodlives - a West Cumbria charity that helps local people find pathways into employment 👏

A big part of that focus is supporting young people early, creating opportunities to build confidence, learn teamwork and take pride in what they’re part of. We believe in staying focused on what matters locally and making a positive impact that lasts.

There’s more to come this year, so keep an eye out for the initiatives and partnerships we’ll be involved in across the community.

We’re proud to share that Forth has successfully retained Cyber Essentials Plus certification 👏

This independently verified certification shows our systems, processes, and controls meet a recognised UK standard for protecting against common cyber threats, giving our clients and partners confidence that security is taken seriously across the business.

It’s part of how we operate - putting the right protections in place and doing things properly to support the work we deliver.

The services Forth offers from its Barrow headquarters and Fabrication Unit were at the centre of conversations when we attended the 2026 Technology Enablement Exhibition at BAE Systems on Monday and Tuesday this week 👏

It was two days full of great conversations with senior BAE representatives, their partners, supply chain contacts and fellow exhibitors. We also highlighted the strength of the wider Forth organisation and the full breadth of our capabilities, including our role within the Resolve partnership, enabling us to support larger, more complex projects through a collaborative approach.

We were pleased to see strong interest in Forth, particularly around the work we deliver across Cumbria and the agile approach we take as a business.

Our Operations Manager for Barrow, Carl Hallows, said: “It was great to get out and speak with so many people across the sector. There was real interest in what we’re doing at Forth, and we were proud to fly the flag for Cumbria. It was a chance to start some new conversations and pick back up with others - definitely a positive couple of days that’s left us feeling energised.”

Thank you to the organisers for putting on a great event, to everyone who stopped to say hello 💪

Two weeks. One clear goal. Big results.

This 2.5‑acre site beside our Flimby HQ has been levelled by moving 6,780 tonnes of construction sand and rubble to create space for a self‑storage facility, capable of accommodating more than 40 containers.

Proof of what strong teamwork can deliver in a short space of time 👏

Keep an eye on our socials - and we'll let you know when the facility is up and running.

After a week of work experience, a lot of enthusiasm and a little persistence, Hayden has officially joined Forth as a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice 🎉

Hayden will be based at our Barrow site, where he’ll be mentored by Will Henderson, supporting his development day‑to‑day as he gets hands‑on experience on the tools and builds the practical skills that matter on site.

This also marks our third consecutive apprentice to join Forth off the back of work experience, something we’re very proud of. Supporting young people, investing time in mentoring and helping apprentices build long‑term careers in engineering is a big part of who we are.

Welcome to the team, Hayden, we’re thrilled to have you 👏

We’re pleased to share that Forth is now a member of the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA) 👏

Joining the BFPA reflects our commitment to raising standards in fluid power, with a clear focus on safety, competence and best practice. It also supports our plans to develop a bespoke training facility at our head office, covering areas including hydraulics, pneumatics, hose integrity, inspection and small-bore tubing.

This is about doing things properly, investing in structured training, recognised standards, and continuous improvement for our clients and the work we deliver.

More to come as this develops.
