This has to be the first time we haven’t broken it (much). Apart from a strong smell of burning from the new exhaust Insulation all went well. Tomorrow more engine trials before the weather turns against us.

A perfect place to work on your boat out of the wind and rain. We are currently working on a high tech project on a 13 metre vessel. Later this year we have an expedition truck being bought back from Africa coming into the shed for major upgrades on its Lithium power system.

One of our first off grid installations has just had a massive battery upgrade. When first installed 5 years ago it just had to run a caravan and boiler. The site has now grown to the size of a small industrial estate.

So, that’s it for another very successful week in Saint Laurent du Var. Back in late February to install Thermal Camera then five days of sea trials to make sure everything works correctly. Including a night passage to test the camera. Next year also sees the start of the project to rebuild the main panel in the engine room.

This is our final project. It will take until Spring 2027 to complete. It’s a big technical challenge. It will be built in Maryport over the summer of 2026 then driven out to Saint Laurent du Var where it will be installed in the boat at Monaco Marine over winter / spring 2027.
