100% Cotton: Celebrating 47 years of Partnership in Greece! 🤝
Spiros Theodossiou has been our exclusive dealer in Greece since 1979; he and our MD Andrew Blanch have known each other for all those years, from the time that we sold our first Double Flow drier for maize, and they successfully trialled it on cotton seed. 👕
Why cotton? After the ginning process, the seed is still covered in lint, creating challenging flow characteristics and a high risk of fire. 🔥
The Double Flow drier is ideally suited to handle this difficult crop.
Over five decades since that initial success, Alvan Blanch driers can now be found working at almost every cotton ginnery in Greece. Our Export Manager Nick Gaisford recalls that his very first day working for Alvan Blanch (more than 20 years ago) was to fly to Greece; he met Spiros before meeting most of his work colleagues!
While this is the longest standing of our international dealerships, it is our many strong and enduring partnerships like this that allow us to combine local market knowledge with British engineering, ensuring our drying solutions are tailored to the specific needs of each crop, customer, and region.
A huge thank you to Spiros and his daughter Lida for visiting us, and for their continued support over so many years. 🙏
