The Royal Oak at Tetbury yesterday hosted the first Great Tetbury Hospital Boules tournament, organised by James Pyle and Vinotopia Wine Merchants of Tetbury whose idea it was in the first place. An excellent day’s boules fun (and wine) was experienced by all players who ranged from one end of the scale to the other in terms both of age and playing experience. The final was eventually won by the Royal Oak B team over a scratch team from Sherston, two of whom hadn’t played before but learned super-fast on the day! Enormous thanks went to the Royal Oak, to Vinotopia, and particularly to James who worked wonders during the day to ensure a grand day out was had by all.

This season's Cotswold Pétanque League is now (mainly) under way. Here is this week's league table showing the early season inevitable nip and tuck at the top. feet dragging teams are expected to kick off their season's matches very soon.

Congratulations to the Cotswold Pétanque League Play Offs champions, Gotherington All Stars who beat Upton Saints by 17-14 in a Cheltenham -v- Gloucester final; and to Saxons 2 who beat Upper Thames Foresters by 22-20 in the Plate final.
