Congratulations to our very own Jake Laing, who was awarded Supply Chain Apprentice of the Year by Wates Construction.

The company said he demonstrated an exceptional work ethic and maturity beyond his years, adding: "This person does not shy away from any task, taking on advice from their colleagues which leads to executing tasks with a willingness and commitment not always witnessed within others.

We have always prided ourselves on the enhanced level of we give to our , but we’ve recently taken our commitment to training one step further by investing in the cutting-edge Training Centre (CETC) at College.

CETC was established in 2017 with the aim of plugging a growing skills shortage that had been hampering the growth of civil in the southeast. The college is tackling the problem by giving apprentices hands-on experience in the day-to-day tasks they’d face on the job, ensuring they are much better equipped to go into a civil engineering .
