👀 A first look at one phase of a much larger Steelo project in the heart of London.

The Grade II-listed former bank in Piccadilly dated 1924 - 1930, is being transformed into a luxury boutique hotel.
Steelo is supporting the development through the phased fabrication and installation of its structural and architectural steelwork. 🏗️

These images show the newly installed lift-shaft steelwork, forming part of a broader package that includes structural framing, staircases, landings and associated metalwork. 🔩

✔️ More than 142 fabrication hours

Delivering a project of this scale inside a historic Central London building requires careful surveying 📐, design coordination 🤝, phased fabrication 🏭 and closely managed installation 🚧.

Every refurbishment project presents its own structural challenges, particularly when working within an existing building where precision is everything.

For this residential refurbishment at Lansdowne Road, Notting Hill, Steelo supplied, fabricated and installed a bespoke structural steel frame to support the complete transformation of a period townhouse.

Project highlights:
✔ 17 structural steel members
✔ 142 fabricated components
✔ 1.96 tonnes of structural steel
✔ Crane-assisted delivery
✔ Factory primed steelwork
✔ On-site intumescent fire protection to specified members
✔ Full fabrication and installation by the Steelo team

Working within the retained masonry structure required careful planning, accurate fabrication and seamless coordination on site. Once installed, the new steel frame provided the structural support required for the property's new layout while maintaining the character of the existing building.
