I receive such a good question from one of our followers that I have to post it here:

Question: If the carp porter normal batteries have 5ah more (probably 22Ah) does that mean yours (17.5Ah or 18Ah) will last less time for more money?
Answer part 1:
I have to explain a bit more the comparison between Lead acid batteries and Lithium batteries for this scenario:
Quick numbers (so we can compare apples→apples)
* - Lead-acid nominal energy = 24 V × 22 Ah = 528 Wh.
* - Lithium nominal energy = 25.4 V × 17.5 Ah = 444.5 Wh.
At first glance lithium has lower nominal Wh — but usable energy is what matters:
Typical recommended usable Depth-Of-Discharge (DoD):
* - Lead-acid safe DoD ≈ 50% → usable ≈ 528 × 0.5 = 264 Wh😮
* - Lithium safe DoD ≈ 90% (many premium packs) → usable ≈ 444.5 × 0.9 = 400.05 Wh. 💪
So usable energy: 400 Wh (lithium) vs 264 Wh (lead-acid) — lithium delivers ~52% more usable energy for your motor.
Also, average current draw for a 350 W motor:
At 25.4 V (lithium) → ≈ 13.8 A.
At 24 V (lead) → ≈ 14.6 A.
That is a modest current compared to both pack capacities, but Lithium 🔋handles discharge far better than any lead acid.
