Drivers, Mechanics, and Mobile Tyre Fitters Required

Hi all,

The tourists have descended upon the Highlands of Scotland once again, so it’s time to recruit!

We have several positions available across two locations: Lochcarron Garage (IV54 8YS) and Dingwall Garage (IV15 9UG).

In the winter months we employ around 25 people, and this needs to rise to about 35 over the summer. Positions are available until the end of October, or on a full-time basis -we have both options.

Positions available:

3 x Drivers (HGV or Car + Trailer licence) – £15/hr + £1/hr bonus

2 x Drivers (7.5-ton Grandfather Licence – Pre-1997 test pass) – £15/hr + £1/hr bonus

1 x Tyre Fitter / Workshop Labourer – £15/hr + £1/hr bonus

2 x Mechanics – £19/hr

2 x Diagnostic Technicians – £21/hr

About the bonus:
The £1 per hour bonus is based on how well drivers look after the vehicles, carry out their duties, complete paperwork, etc.

Previous recovery experience is preferable for driving roles but not essential—full in-house training will be provided. Drivers must be based within 30 minutes of either location.

Accommodation:
If needed, we can provide a touring caravan (one person per caravan, no pets).

We are currently looking for an organised and self-motivated individual to join our team in the office at Lochcarron Garage & Shop.

Key Responsibilities:

• Filing & Stock Control
• Stock Taking
• General Office Management
• Holiday Cover for other Office Staff
• Cash Reconciliation

This is a varied role, with new tasks presenting themselves regularly, so the ability to adapt is essential. The successful applicant must be organised and able to work on their own initiative.

Requirements:

• Ability to manage tasks independently and work efficiently under pressure
• References required
• Driver’s license preferred, but not essential

What We Offer:

• Hourly rate: £15 per hour
• 40-hour workweek

Lochcarron Garage requires an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our busy service centre in Lochcarron.

£18 per hour

We are based in the north of Scotland on the NC 500 route. We are busy all year round and in the summer we get inundated with tourists.
The Vehicle Technician will be skilful in service and repair of many brands and models.
In addition broader skills in service and repair, including replacement of cam-belts, clutches, head gaskets and diagnostics. A qualification such as City & Guilds or NVQ or time served experience will be expected for this role.
Applicant will need to either be willing to carry out MOT tester training or already have that qualification.
Lochcarron garage is based at Lochcarron, on the west coast of Scotland, postcode IV548YS. We have a garage, village shop, petrol station and recovery company. We currently employ 21 people.

This job can include if needed accommodation which is a three bedroom house tied to the job for £600 per month + usual council tax etc.
