🧵 EXCITING NEWS FROM KNILLCO! 🪡

Following Margaret’s announcement today, we’re very pleased to finally be able to share some news of our own.

From Tuesday 1st September, Knillco will be expanding to offer the haberdashery goods and services previously available from Bon Marche. This includes the dry cleaning and alterations!

When we heard that Bon Marche was due to close, we felt it would be a real shame for Llandrindod Wells to lose something that has been part of the town for so long. We’ve therefore been working closely with Margaret and Susan to make sure that, as far as possible, those products and services continue to be available locally.

We’ll be introducing a dedicated haberdashery department within Knillco, with many of the familiar lines Bon Marche customers have relied on over the years, alongside some new additions as we develop the range.

Margaret and Susan have very kindly offered to help us through the transition and share their considerable knowledge with us. We’ll certainly have plenty to learn, so please bear with us while we find our feet!

Most importantly, we’d like to say a huge thank you to Margaret and Susan for trusting us to carry this part of Bon Marche forward, and for all the help and advice they’ve already given us.

We’re genuinely excited to keep these products and services right here in Llandod and to welcome Bon Marche customers, old and new, through the doors at Knillco.

From Tuesday 1st September — Haberdashery at KNILLCO.

🚨 SCAM WARNING – Please Read 🚨

It has come to our attention that scammers are using our Knillco name to sell products online.

These listings/websites are fraudulent and not connected to us. We do not want any of our customers to fall victim to this scam.

So far we have identified knillcohardware. com & a Knillco store on /shop.app/ which are fraudulent.

Both are using our telephone number and appear to be legitimate.

We will never request payment through unofficial links or private messages.

If you have already made a purchase through a suspicious source, we recommend contacting your bank immediately.

We are working with the relevant authorities and platforms to have these fraudulent pages removed.

Your safety and trust are extremely important to us. Please share this post to help spread awareness.

Thank you,

A pretty amazing fact!

Kingfishers mostly take care of themselves, but when it comes to your garden birds, we’ve got them covered. Peanuts, seed, fatballs, sunflower hearts, suet and more — everything needed for a truly tempting feast.

Did you know that a Kingfisher’s bill inspired Japan’s bullet trains? Let me explain.

The infamous bullet train had an issue with the design of its nose which created a loud boom as it travelled through tunnels at high speed. Which isn’t ideal if you’re wildlife or live nearby.

Enter the Kingfisher.

Engineers studied and took inspiration from the bill, and thanks to its aerodynamic and streamlined shape, the front of the train was redesigned to be faster, quieter and even more powerful.

Nature 🤝 Fixing problems.
