👋 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺, 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗻! 👋

We're delighted to welcome Lauren Meek to the Phoenix Drilling team!

Lauren joins us as our new Sample Store Assistant, taking on an important role within our engineering and laboratory support functions. She will be responsible for organising and managing samples returned from site, assisting our engineers during the sample logging process, maintaining the sample store, and preparing and retrieving samples for laboratory testing and client requirements. The sample store plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and traceability of the data we provide to our clients and Lauren's support will help keep this process running efficiently and smoothly.

Alongside her sample store responsibilities, Lauren will also be assisting her sister, Emma, with HGV vehicle movements, helping to keep our operations moving and supporting our field teams across the UK.
Having both Lauren and Emma behind the wheel of our trucks should keep things interesting! We're not sure whether it'll be teamwork or sibling rivalry that gets the plant & equipment moved quickest, but we're looking forward to finding out! 😆🚛👭

⭐ 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 – 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻 ⭐

This week, we're shining the spotlight on Willie Ganson, our highly skilled Excavator Operator.

When it comes to excavator operations, Willie consistently goes above and beyond. Whether it's remedial works, peatland restoration, track construction, bund formation, site clearance or tackling challenging ground conditions, his attention to detail and commitment to getting the job done right first time never fail to impress both Phoenix Drilling and our clients.

His experience, professionalism and pride in his work set the standard on every project he works on. Simply put, Willie is one of the best at what he does!

Away from the machine, Willie is an absolute gentleman and a valued member of the Phoenix Drilling team. His positive attitude, willingness to help others and dedication to delivering quality work make him a real asset to the business.

Another early start for Greg and Stephen from one of our Low Ground Pressure Energy teams as they relocate to their next borehole location in Aberdeenshire.

Our low ground pressure rigs allow us to access sensitive ground conditions while minimising environmental impact, helping to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.

A great example of specialist geotechnical investigation supporting energy infrastructure projects across Scotland.

Last week we welcomed David and Sandie from Headshots Scotland to Phoenix Drilling to refresh our team portraits, and what a fantastic experience it was!

A huge thank you to both of them for making the entire process run so smoothly. From start to finish, they created a relaxed atmosphere and helped everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera – no easy task for some of our team!

The photos are now back with us, and the difficult part begins... choosing our favourites! Once everyone has made their selections, we'll be updating our website with a fresh new look so you can put faces to the names behind Phoenix Drilling.

We are delighted to confirm that Constructionline Gold Membership for Phoenix Drilling Limited has officially been renewed.

Maintaining Gold status reflects our continued commitment to quality, health & safety, environmental management, and operational excellence across all of our projects throughout the UK.

But we are not stopping there… 👀

Next month, we will be undergoing our audit to progress to Constructionline Platinum Membership — another important milestone in strengthening our compliance, governance and industry credentials.

Congratulations to Aidan Canning on successfully achieving his NVQ Level 2 Land Drilling Support Operative qualification 👏

Aidan is a conscientious and hardworking member of the Phoenix Drilling team who continues to develop his skills and experience working alongside Lead Driller Jon Donaldson. It’s great to see his commitment and progress being recognised through this achievement.

Well done Aidan - a well-deserved milestone and another fantastic addition to your career within the ground investigation industry.

Crew 1 is on site this week in North Lanarkshire delivering a series of mineral boreholes for a proposed new-build development.

These investigations play a key role in assessing ground conditions and providing accurate geological data to support the next stages of design and construction. Another solid week of progress from the team on site.

A huge congratulations to our very own Emma Meek on the purchase of her fantastic new horse box! 🐎🚛

Able to transport up to 5 horses at a time and complete with living accommodation, this is an incredible addition to support Emma’s continued success in the equestrian world.

As one of Emma’s proud sponsors, we are delighted to see the new Phoenix Drilling livery displayed on the box — it looks absolutely fabulous! 👏

The season is now well underway, and Emma is busy most weekends attending competitions across the country. We wish her the very best for a successful season ahead and look forward to following her journey.

Katrina will be supporting our Office Manager and wider office team helping to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly across the business. Very soon, Katrina will also become the first voice you hear when calling into the office and the friendly face welcoming you through the door.

We are delighted to have Katrina joining the team and look forward to supporting her in her new role with us. Welcome aboard, Katrina!📞
