The Company -
Roadcraft (Crane & Plant Hire) Ltd, have been providing specialist lifting services throughout the North West and Cheshire since 1920.
We offer an unrivalled service in the provision of CPA Crane Hire and Contract Lifts, together with the supply of Appointed Persons, Lift Supervisors and Slinger/Banksmen in various areas of Shipbuilding, Petrochemical, Utilities, Engineering, Construction or Green Energy.
Responsibilities
• Service and maintain a small fleet of mobile cranes ranging from 10T to 200T
• Service and maintain company vans
• Manage the workshop, including paper work ordering stock and parts.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and organise repairs or replacements as necessary
• Ensure good working practices and maintain a safe, tidy and hazard-free working environment
• Collaborating with our Operations Director to schedule repairs and minimize downtime
Requirements
• Previous experience as a mobile crane or heavy plant engineer
• Full UK Driving licence. HGV licence an advantage
• Flexible to work from our site in Bootle, Liverpool and at customers site when needed.
• Willing to cover out of hours/weekend breakdowns where necessary

Roadcraft (Crane & Plant Hire) Ltd’s Sany SAC600E is showcased here in action at a historic Liverpool site, once home to the well-known Spillers Pet Foods factory.

Working alongside the Nick Brookes Group, the crane is lifting and holding a demolition curtain in place during ongoing demolition works.

The HSE is regularly visiting the site, this critical safety measure helps contain debris and protects neighbouring residential properties, demonstrating Roadcraft’s commitment to precision lifting, safety, and supporting the surrounding community during complex demolition operations.

Set against blue skies and the backdrop of classic seaside attractions—ice cream, rock, and promenade energy—the crane is expertly positioned to assist with the precise placement of the striking inverted structure.

Working in partnership with the Upside Down House Company, Roadcraft continues to demonstrate reliable, high-quality lifting solutions, helping bring this unique and eye-catching attraction to life on the Lancashire coast.

The Role -

We want candidates who are keen to learn and progress within the roles and who will take pride in their work, ensuring our very high-quality standards are achieved.

Mobile Crane Operator/Lift Supervisor

• Candidates must hold a valid HGV Class 2 licence and a Blue CPCS Mobile Crane/Lift Supervisor licence
• Positions required for All Terrain/Rough Terrain Cranes ranging from 13T to 200T capacities.
• You must be conscientious, reliable and able to work well within a team. Ideally you will have two years experience in a similar role.
• Full previous work history and references will be required.
• Competitive salary - Generous expenses package to include 2nd job bonus, competitive travel allowance and LS bonus. Regular overtime available (not mandatory).

Requirements for all posts -

• Full UK Drivers license and use of vehicle.
• An excellent work ethic with a desire to learn and progress
• Responsible, dependable & conscientious individual (The right attitude is key)

Package –

• Standard hours 8am to 16:30pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 15.30pm Friday with paid overtime
• Full time employment (PAYE)
• Great rates of pay
• Company work wear provided
• Company pension scheme & Company sick pay following successful completion of probation period

We’re excited to share that Roadcraft Crane & Plant Hire Ltd have taken delivery of the first fully CE Certified AT22, now approved for on‑highway operation in the UK. This impressive machine is ready to hit the road and get to work!

Franna AT22 – Straight to Work in a Constrained Environment!

These photographs show our Franna AT22 pick-carry crane put straight to work and taken through its paces within a highly constrained warehouse environment.

Operating at between narrow aisles, fixed racking, and live operations, the Franna AT22 demonstrated its exceptional maneuverability, compact footprint, and precise control. The crane was able to position, lift, and handle loads efficiently while maintaining full clearance from surrounding infrastructure — something that would be impractical or impossible with conventional lifting solutions.

The images highlight the Franna’s ability to:
• Work safely and effectively within tight internal spaces
• Navigate restricted access routes and limited turning areas
• Provide controlled lifting and placement at height
• Integrate seamlessly alongside existing materials-handling equipment
