🚨 NISSAN GT-R R35 OWNERS — ACTIVE BONNET ACTUATORS ARE NOT RESET BY PUSHING THEM BACK DOWN! 🚨

We see this misconception far too often.

After the pedestrian protection system has deployed on a Nissan GT-R R35, the bonnet actuators may physically be pushed back down — but that does NOT mean they have been reset or are safe to reuse.

❌ Push them back down = NOT a reset
❌ Clear the fault codes = NOT a repair
❌ Warning light gone = NOT proof the system is operational

These actuators are pyrotechnic safety components. Once fired, simply compressing them back into position does not restore them to their original working condition.

⚠️ If an actuator has deployed, it needs to be correctly dealt with as part of the SRS/pedestrian protection repair.

Using thermal imaging, we can pinpoint abnormal heat signatures and component-level faults on the PCB - helping us identify exactly where the problem is before in most cases it is an obvious issue (unlike this one in the image)

It’s this level of testing and attention to detail that separates a proper diagnosis from simply replacing parts and hoping for the best.

🔧 Renault Trafic SRS Module Repair

This Renault Trafic SRS module came in with two circuit fault codes but was still maintaining communication with the vehicle.

Given where these modules are mounted, you'd normally expect the usual corrosion-related issues. This one, however, had a completely different story to tell.

As soon as the cover came off, the cause of the faults was immediately obvious... The diode had aspirations to be a small heater 🔥🌡️!!!

It's a good reminder that fault codes only tell part of the story. The real diagnosis starts once the module is on the bench.

Another module repaired, tested, and ready to go back into service. ✅
