You send a drawing to a fabricator. Three weeks later, the parts arrive. Something is not quite right. The dimensions are off. The material changed without asking. Now your project is delayed and your budget is tight. A reliable metal fabricator does not let this happen. They understand that your deadline is their deadline. If you are trying to find someone you can actually trust, we have written a guide on what to look for. Read it here.

Metal fabrication to specification. On time, every time. Trade-only fabrication based in Littlehampton, West Sussex.

A supplier tells you a job will be ready on Friday. Friday comes and you get a call saying it's delayed another week. The part arrives the following Thursday and the dimensions are out by half a millimetre. You've got a site waiting. A schedule that's slipped. A client asking questions.

That's a conversation we have with contractors regularly. It's not always about finding a fabricator. It's about finding one who means what they say.

When we quote a delivery date, we build in the time we actually need. Not the time we hope for. When we take on a job to specification, we check it matters before we start cutting. If something doesn't fit the drawing or if we spot an issue early, you hear about it from us, not from the site. And when we say it will be ready, it will be ready.

That's not magic. It's just working out what the job needs, doing it properly, and being honest about how long it takes.

We've been doing this on the Riverside Industrial Estate for years. Gates, frames, brackets, staircases, one-off parts for contractors and manufacturers across West Sussex and beyond. TIG welding and powder coating in-house. No outsourcing the finishing. No surprises.

If you need metal parts made and you need them right, get in touch.

A metal fabrication supplier worth calling is one you can rely on to do the job properly. One you can actually talk to. One who knows what you are working on and delivers when they say they will. That matters more than you might think. Read about why choosing the right supplier gives you one less thing to worry about.

When you call a fabricator with a job, you want someone who listens the first time. Someone who understands what you're trying to achieve without needing it explained three times over. Someone who rings back.

That matters more than people think. Large suppliers treat jobs as tickets in a system. You get an account number and a queue. You chase for updates. You wonder if anyone actually read your brief.

We work differently because we're small enough that when you call, you speak to someone who knows your job. Not in a vague way — in detail. We remember what you needed last time. We understand your site, your constraints, your timeline. If something goes wrong, you don't wait for an email back from someone in another department. You speak to Stephanie or one of the team who can actually sort it.

That is the relationship we build with every contractor and manufacturer we work with. You are not a number. You are someone we want to work with again.

It changes what it feels like to outsource a metal fabrication job. Instead of hoping it comes back right, you know it will. Instead of chasing for delivery dates, you know when it's arriving. Instead of wondering if they understood the spec, you know they did because you've talked it through.

You are coordinating multiple trades, working to timelines, responsible for getting the job finished on time and on budget. When something goes wrong with a supplier, it becomes your problem. A late delivery means site delays. Wrong specifications mean rework and cost. The fabrication supplier you choose reduces risk. Read our latest post about what makes the right choice.

A component that fails early almost never fails because of the metal itself, it fails because of a decision made somewhere between design and delivery that nobody flagged at the time. A finish that was never suited to the environment the part ended up in. A tolerance loosened slightly to save a day on the schedule. A material substitution nobody signed off on properly. None of these show up as an obvious mistake in the moment. They show up months later as a callback, which costs considerably more than the day it would have taken to get it right the first time.

Most contractors have a story about a metal fabrication job that went wrong. Parts came back with incorrect dimensions. Delivery dates slipped without notice. The supplier was hard to reach when questions came up. The decision about who makes your metal parts affects everything that comes after. It is not just about price or speed. Read why choosing the right fabrication supplier matters to your project.

A staircase that needed to work in a space with no room for error. A run of brackets that had to fit between existing fixings on a live site. A gate frame where the measurements had to be exact because the hinges were already hung.

These are the jobs where a drawing stops being theoretical and becomes a real thing that has to fit, function, and last. We see them regularly. A contractor or a manufacturer rings because they need something made in metal and they need it right.

We work from what you give us. A sketch. A set of dimensions. A photograph of an existing frame you need to match. We check it before we start. If something does not add up, we tell you. If we spot a problem in the spec, we work through it with you first. Then we make it.

TIG welding and powder coating happen here in-house, which means we control every stage. No waiting for an external finishing process. No hoping someone else interprets the spec the way you meant it.

When the part is finished, it is finished. It arrives on time. It fits. It works.

That is what finished work looks like. If you need something made in metal, get in touch at riversideonline.co.uk

You have a drawing. You have a deadline. You need a gate, a frame, a bracket, or a staircase made in metal and delivered when you said it would be. The difference between a project that runs smoothly and one that becomes a headache is whether your fabricator takes your specification seriously and delivers on time, every time. We have set out how to think about this choice. Read the full post on our blog.

Working with an architect or engineer on a fabrication spec goes more smoothly when the workshop gets involved before the drawing is finalised rather than after. A design that looks straightforward on paper can be genuinely difficult to fabricate at the tolerances specified, and catching that early means adjusting a drawing rather than adjusting a delivery date once the job is already underway. The best working relationships we have are the ones where a query on a spec is treated as useful information, not as a delay.
