Another successful bespoke VASA installation completed! 👏

This hydraulic tank cleaning system, recently commissioned at Nichol McKay Ltd in Scotland, has now been running successfully for several weeks and is performing exceptionally well.

Designed specifically for post-fabrication cleaning of hydraulic tanks, the system delivers a repeatable, validated cleaning process that removes fabrication debris and contamination before tanks enter service. 🚿

“The Arcus Deputies” took on the legendary Red Bull Soapbox Race at the Stormont Estate, Belfast last Sunday. 🚓💨

Armed with a homemade jail wagon soapbox, plenty of determination and maybe a little too much confidence, the team flew down the course… until they didn't. 😅

After scoring 43 for creativity and 49 for their performance out of 50, it all ended in a total wipe out partway through. The lads showed true engineering resilience by picking up the remainder of the wagon and carrying it the rest of the way to the finish line. Not exactly the performance metrics we aim for - but definitely points for team spirit and commitment!

A brilliant day out, plenty of laughs and a great experience for the team. Huge thanks to everyone who came along and supported “The Arcus Deputies” in Belfast. 👏

Safe to say the next design review may include a few changes. 👀

A few of the Arcus Engineering team have decided that designing and building industrial cleaning systems clearly wasn’t enough of a challenge…

So, they’ve been spending late nights in the workshop building a soapbox from scratch for the Red Bull Soapbox Race at Stormont Estate, Belfast this Sunday! 🏁

There has been plenty of creativity, questionable aerodynamic theory, and the occasional debate about whether “it’ll be grand” counts as a formal engineering sign-off.

Brilliant to see the same problem-solving, hands-on skills and team spirit that they bring to work every day being put into something a bit more… life threatening? 🤷‍♂️

Fair play to the lads for putting in the hours - now all that’s left is to hope the soapbox makes it down the hill in roughly the same number of pieces and occupants it started with.

We had a bit of a full circle moment at Arcus recently!

One of our very first clients from 2020, Farmgate Nutrition, came back to us - this time for a VASA Plus IBC Cleaner to help cut down on cleaning times, water and power use, and a new mobile spraying system. 🚿

It got us thinking back to nearly six years ago, when we built and installed a spraying system for them to dose their product into bulk ingredients - a system that’s been running reliably ever since, originally installed by our Director Conor and his Dad between lockdowns!

This time around, they needed the system to be mobile after some changes on site, so we handed it over to our HLA engineering apprentice, Micheál.

With support from the team, Micheál designed, built and installed the new mobile unit - and got it running perfectly first time. 👏

Seeing that transition - from our early days as a small team, to now supporting and trusting the next generation to deliver for those same clients - is something we’re incredibly proud of.

Big thanks to Farmgate Nutrition for sticking with us on the journey, and well done to Micheál on his first successful project – here he is with his machine, reminding us that we still might lose him to his dream career as a professional dancer. 🕺
