Well, it’s that time of year again — the Lincoln 10K is here! 🏃‍♂️

Both Derek (aka Del-Boy) and I (Pat) will be taking part this Sunday.

I first ran the Lincoln 10K many years ago with Andy Bower (Derek’s son and former owner of LVS), so it’s really special to be continuing the tradition with Derek now.

At LVS, we offer a range of upgrades to enhance your vehicle’s performance.

One of the most common requests we receive is for upgraded braking systems—especially on MQB platform vehicles like the Golf R, S3, and SEAT Leon.

Recently, myself (Pat) visited VBT in Manchester to explore braking solutions that deliver improved performance without the high cost typically associated with 4- or 6-pot brake kits. While those setups are excellent, they can be a significant investment.

After speaking with Dean at VBT, we were able to source a solution that strikes a great balance between performance and affordability.

This Mk7 Golf GTI was one of the first vehicles we upgraded using this setup, featuring J-Hook discs (in OEM size) paired with uprated Mintex pads front and rear.

While this combination may not be designed for intensive track use, it’s ideal for fast road driving—offering a noticeable improvement over standard OEM brakes without breaking the bank. In fact, it’s not much more expensive than replacing the stock setup.

March madness really has stuck this month with the doors acting on a revolving basis with work coming in just as quickly as its been going out! So here's an insight into the week so far with a selection from today

George got to work installing some upgraded Brembo HC discs & pads to an A6 avant

Slater had himself a lovely VW Caravelle for Major service & MOT

Tim worked his way through a minor service and diagnostic of an EML light on a Mk6 GTi prior to its upcoming MOT

Dan fitted a fresh Mechatronics unit cover to this S3 followed up with a DSG service

And Trev closes off the Round with a Touareg in for some diagnostic and fault finding consisting of but not limited too a new DPF temperature sensor & a corroded brake pad wear wire loom

Thats Monday boxed off on this new week here and we're off to a flying start!

A good push today from our team to get the work in and out the door at our usual high standard. We've had the pleasure today of:

- Tiguan R in for some varying diagnostic work using our top of the line Dealer quality diagnosis equipment by Trev
- A nice simple minor service with Brake fluid change & air-conditioning service on the superb by Slater
- The lovely Mk7 GTi performance also for Minor service by Dan
- Tim sorted out an alignment on the white Tiguan using our lovely 4 wheel laser system
- Boxing off the work was the Blue leon FR in for major service, some general wear an tear repairs, whilst some issues discovered during service stopped us from Applying our RacingLine Performance Stage 1 Engine & gearbox maps but it will be returning for those when the faults are resolved

Mid week here at LVS and the team have been busy keeping the wheels turning. Very much none stop since the word Go on Monday morning to where we are now and here's just a small selection of this week's intake.

- VW transporter in its final stages of a complete engine replacement by Trev
- A fresh battery fitted & coded in to this Immaculate Tornado Red Mk6 GTi by Tim
- Tiguan in for a Cambelt & water pump replacement & 2 new springs by Dan
- A 4 wheel alignment amongst other things on a V6T S4 by George
- An immensely clean RS5 in for Major service with Brake fluid change done by Slater
