Happy World Sustainability Day. We'll be honest, we're a bit wary of days like this. 🌱 🗓️

Not because sustainability doesn't matter, but because it's easy for it to become a once-a-year post rather than an everyday practice. Real sustainability doesn't show up in a caption, it shows up in the supplier you chose in March and the process you haven't reviewed since.

Something significant is changing for businesses this October and if you produce, handle or arrange collection of waste, it affects you. 📋

Mandatory Digital Waste Tracking is coming into force in October 2026. From that point, paper-based records like waste transfer notes are being replaced by a centralised digital system, and compliance won't be optional.

The good news? If you're already working with a reputable, licensed waste provider, most of this should be taken care of for you.

Did you know that bacteria can multiply twice as fast in warmer temperatures? 🌞

It's one of those facts that sounds a bit alarming when you first hear it, but it really does make a difference to how you manage hygiene in your workplace during the summer months.

Things like sanitary units, nappy disposal units and clinical waste all need more frequent attention when temperatures rise. What works fine in January might not be keeping up in July.

It's something we talk to customers about all the time and a few small tweaks can make a big difference.
