🎉 This week we’re celebrating 13 years with Blair McWilliam

Blair joined SM UK back in 2013, at a point when the business looked very different to the one we know today. Having known Steve through the industry, a conversation led to an opportunity and, as Blair puts it, Steve and Dave decided to take a chance on him. It’s fair to say that chance paid off.

Over the years, Blair has grown alongside the business, taking on new responsibilities and playing an important part in the development of our technical teams.

In 2017, when we formed a dedicated Telematics team, Blair became its Manager. In 2021, he moved into the role of Quality Assurance Manager, overseeing quality for the whole of SM UK, helping ensure our engineers and installations continued to meet the high standards expected.

Late last year, Blair took the next step in his career, becoming Stream Technical Manager, where he now leads the technical side of our Stream Videomatics offering.

13 years, several roles and plenty of change along the way.
Blair’s journey is a great example of what can happen when someone is given an opportunity to develop, take on new challenges and grow with the business.

Thank you for everything you’ve contributed over the last 13 years, Blair. Here’s to the next chapter. 👏

Midway through Q3 and there’s no sign of things slowing down at SM UK.

It’s been a busy summer across the business, and our workshops are a good reflection of that this week.

Vehicles are moving through at different stages of installation and conversion, with plenty happening behind the scenes to keep everything moving and get vehicles back out to our customers.

A busy few months behind us, and plenty more to come as we head into autumn.

It’s only a small sticker. But it means a lot.
Every vehicle that leaves SM UK carries our QC tick.

It means the work is complete, the final quality checks have been carried out and the vehicle has been signed off to meet the standards we expect before it reaches our customer.

Whether it’s a minimal adaptation or a full vehicle conversion, nothing leaves our workshop without that final check.

The SM UK QC tick is our mark of quality. A simple sign that the job has been checked, approved and is ready to go.

Because when our name is on it, we want to know it’s been done properly.

This is shocking to watch. This footage shows a HGV driver using a mobile phone and not wearing a seatbelt while behind the wheel, but it raises an important question:

We’ve recently welcomed Michelle Radcliffe to the SM UK team, joining our Van Division as Van Fleet Sales Executive.

With plenty of experience already under her belt in the fleet and automotive industry, Michelle knows the world our customers operate in and, more importantly, understands what they need from their vehicles.

She’ll be working with customers across our Van Division, helping them find the right vehicles, conversions and solutions for their fleets.

A great addition to the team and another experienced pair of hands as the division continues to grow.
