Another Audi S4 in for our custom ECU Tuning. The owner had been following us for a few years, but was nervous about having his car tuned. Hardly surprising as this is a lovely specimen- who’d want to risk it? The good news is that there’s no risk with a properly calibrated, tested and proven tune. After carrying out a full health check on the engine we took a read of the SIMOS 8.5 ECU over OBD using our CMDFlash tool. This is a super stable tuning interface and flawless on VAG vehicles. Custom ECU Remap on 2018 Range Rover Velar. We don't often see Velars with the 3.0 Supercharged petrol so we were excited today to see this one, having made a decent journey to visit our workshop in Leeds. It's possible to tune these through the diagnostic port but there are advantages in doing it the longer, and more difficult method. We will often read and write the ECU directly by pinning into the ECU edge connector. The reasons are that we can see if any previous tuning has been done, and as this car uses the Flexray communication gateway it negates the requirement to lock the vehicle for an extended period post flashing.
This car is fitted with the Bosch MED17.8.32 ECU and we had to remove the wiper arms, scuttle and a few other trims to get clear access to the edge connector. A nice bit of light required to ensure no incorrect pinout. We installed a high quality, dyno developed and proven tuning file from one our trusted partners in the UK.
Although the headline BHP increase may not sound massive on paper, on the road the drive was like day and night- super reponsive and great fun, whilst making it silky smooth. Happy to help the owner of this Range Rover Evoque - 2.0 TD4 Diesel today. This vehicle came in with Adblue issues which is an all too common issue on these. The local Land Rover dealership can not repair the faults for six weeks. After carrying out a full diagnosis, we were able to determine the issue accurately. In the short term we applied our NOX solution which enabled the owner to carry on with their daily business. Audi RS3 recently tuned by Yorkshire Remaps at our tuning centre in Leeds. We applied our custom ECU software to significantly improve the performance. Our tune is still very smooth, reliable and safe. The RS3 is already a very hot hatch but we're able to increase the performance to take this to another level. We choose to tune this Bosch MED17.1.62 ECU through the edge connectors on the bench, in around 60-90 minutes using an Autotuner Master tool. The reason for this is that on the bench we can see whether any changes have been already made. This could be a previous remap or e.g removing fault codes from the ECU data table. The driving dynamic is transformed on these. We also combined the engine tune with our TCU upgrade. This is a tune specifically for the S-Tronic gearbox. This unlocks further performance.
