Your questions about the Milli-Vib vibration sensor, answered.
We get asked a lot about how Milli-Vib works, so we’ve pulled together the questions that come up most:
Q) What does the Milli-Vib monitor?
A) Vibration levels in industrial machinery, using RMS velocity measurement in mm/s.
Q) How is it powered?
A) A simple 2-wire, 4-20mA loop.
Q) What is the standard measuring range?
A) 0–25 mm/s RMS, with a 0–50 mm/s version available on request.
Q) How is it installed?
A) To achieve maximum sensitivity, mount the sensor vertically along the Y-axis of the machinery.
Q) What certifications does it carry?
A) ATEX, UKEx, IECEx, CSA and CE.
Q) Is it suitable for harsh or hazardous environments?
A) Yes. The Milli-Vib has a robust IP66 stainless steel enclosure and is available with relevant hazardous-area certifications.
Q) Can it monitor temperature too?
A) Yes. The Milli-Con version combines vibration monitoring with optional NTC or PT100 surface temperature monitoring.
