Hello all, I hope everyone has had a nice peaceful Christmas. Its been a while since I last updated my page, 2023 has been a strange old year to say the least with 2 family bereavements a touch of Covid and finally the house move that we all started to think was never going to happen. Unfortunately this has meant my attentiveness to everyone hasn't been what I wanted it to be and as a result I am behind on work and getting my bills out to people. If you have contacted be about any service or repair work I haven't forgotten and will be in touch as soon as possible.

Sat Nav will bring you straight to me, we are 0.5 miles past Trewint service station and will have to cross the A30 to get to me, its not difficult but you do have to be wary of the odd idiot speeding.
I am still offering a collection and delivery service for which there is a small fee of 0.50p per mile this is just to cover fuel and wear and tear to my van I don't charge labour on top which a lot of other do. Finally for the 2024/2025 season there will be a small rise in price of 5% which brings Service Price for Ride on mowers starting from £168 and Pedestrian mowers starting from £84. I have noticed over the past 12-18 months the leading question is now how much will it cost? I am conscious that for a lot of people money is tight and spending it on a mower or strimmer isn't ideal, I will always do my best to keep prices as low as possible and offer quotes and seek approval for work outside what I would consider routine service work. I have never and never will charge simply for looking at your machine most problems can be diagnosed and opinion given within 20mins of it going onto the bench if it not repairable then no fee (collection and delivery charge still applies).

Products that carry no spares back up like this hedge trimmer (maximum 6years old) should be banned or heavily taxed. In my opinion spares should be available for 25years and all products should be made to be repaired. All these companies want you to do is buy complete units as it's more profit in their pockets. When enquiring about the spares I required I was told that no internal parts were available to purchase including the belts (absolute bo****ks I can buy them online) I was also told that it was not advised that the product be opened for warranty purposes. 1. Out of warranty anyway 2. they probably don't want you to find out it's a glorified Meccano kit. This product is perfectly repairable the clip holding the drive wheel on the shaft had been forced off probably due to being overloaded, ideally I'd like to fit a new one but this isn't possible the old one looks ok and should drive back on the shaft so it will have to do and hope for the best. With no prior knowledge of this hedge trimmer power unit I was able to completely disassemble it in under 10 minutes ready for the new belts. If I remember I will grab a video back working saved from landfill.

Another job complete. A basic job made tricky by it being a imported machine with no ID sticker although branded McCulloch 300ex my suppliers and McCulloch/Husqvarna drew a blank on a parts list and number for the shell. As luck would have it a much newer husqvarna came in for a service with a 42" side discharge deck. A quick offer up showed they were mighty close to identical. Took a punt on it and here it is back on a ready to go mowing new shaft housings and bearings, top pulley and belt. Engine out for a quick crankshaft seal replacement completed the job.

A unusual problem trimmer came in with all the symptoms of a blocked carb and a dirty screen to prove it carb stripped and cleaned and rebuilt with new carb kit screen and Welch plug but still doing the same thing started fine pull the trigger and nothing. Delved into the tank to check the filter to find it had been rubbing on the tank floor.
