Northern Ireland has alongside the UK government has consistently made clear that it is committed to achieving a large increase in renewable energy Northern Ireland Executive’s Strategic Energy Framework includes a target of 40% electricity consumption from renewable sources by 2020. From July 2012 to June 2013, renewable electricity in Northern Ireland increased by 16%. Renewable electricity in Northern Ireland accounted for 3% of the total UK renewables output during this period this is a snapshot at the abundant wind energy potential we have with a beneficial ethical backbone.
