Part 11 ♻️ Ever wondered how waste turns into energy at Rabbit Waste Management?

Let’s step back inside the process… 🔍

This time, we’re looking at the Air-Cooled Condenser (ACC), one of the key systems that keeps the plant running efficiently.

After steam has powered the turbine to generate electricity, it’s cooled back into water using four huge air-cooled condenser bays instead of large amounts of cooling water. That water is then collected, pumped back into the system, and reused as boiler feedwater, making the process far more efficient.

💨 One of the ACC’s most important jobs is maintaining a powerful vacuum (around -850 to -950 mbar), allowing the turbine to extract even more energy from the steam before it’s recycled.

🔧 Did you know?
• 4 air-cooled condenser bays
• 4 cooling fans, each 6.2 metres in diameter
• Each fan is powered by a 55kW electric motor
• Water is continuously recycled back through the system

It’s smart engineering like this that helps turn everyday waste into reliable, lower-carbon energy while making the most of every resource.

Follow along as we continue to take you behind the scenes of the waste-to-energy process. 💚♻️
