Moorfield started life as a vacuum technology consultancy, helping customers find solutions for scientific and industrial needs. Soon after, the company identified a niche for small-scale but high-specification physical vapour deposition (PVD) systems. With initial designs proven, the tools were launched as the MiniLab range and the systems side of the business was born.
Nowadays, the systems division of Moorfield has grown to offer a range of PVD tools to suit most budgets, from the smaller academic-scale products to highly-automated industrial units suitable for pilot-scale or batch production. The company offers various product platforms that can be equipped with all common coating techniques, but customisation to application is a speciality.
Beyond PVD, recent collaborative work with leading academic groups and institutions has allowed Moorfield to extend their portfolio into the 2D materials field with the launch of innovative chemical vapour deposition (CVD) and etching solutions. Customer support is a priority at Moorfield. Pre-sales, this involves a close partnership between customers and our expert technical team to ensure quoted systems meet requirements.
