What are metals, and why are they important?

Metals are solid elements that are good conductors of heat and electricity. Most metals are malleable, which means they can be easily hammered or rolled into thin sheets, and ductile, which means they can be stretched into wires.

There are two main types of metals:

Ferrous metals - contain Iron, are magnetic and prone to rust
Non-Ferrrous metals - do not contain iron, are not magnetic and typically corrosion resistant

Ever wondered how we turn flat sheets of metal into precision parts?

It starts with our Bystronic 10 kW Fibre Laser Cutter. Our laser cutter uses a high-powered beam to cut through metal with extreme accuracy — meaning clean edges, tight tolerances, and minimal waste.

Every cut is programmed from our drawing office, so what’s designed is exactly what gets produced. We can cut metal up to 25mm thick and large sheet sizes up to 3000 x 1500mm.

What are LEV Systems and RPE?

LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation) systems control and capture harmful airborne toxins such as dust, fumes and vapours. LEV systems extract the toxins, clean them and then safely deposits it back into the atmosphere.

RPE (Respiratory Protective Equipment) is a form of PPE that protects the individual user from inhaling harmful substances. It filters out the harmful toxins and enables the wearer to breathe in clean air.
